What’s your name and where do you live in Australia?
My name is Bec and I’m from Brisbane.
What’s your story, who are you and how did you arrive at this point in life?
I’m originally from the UK. I moved here in 1999 and lived in Byron Bay and Sydney prior to Brisbane.
I enjoyed life working at a local University, then fell pregnant (16 years ago!) to my eldest. This is where life as a mum began.
2009 saw life change even more when my fierce warrior (Ruby) was born and I’ve spent life ever since advocating and fighting for her, and my family.
Fast forward to now, I have a wonderful partner, an additional toddler and a thriving business (created from a gap and need in our lives, and many others).
How has being a special needs mama changed you or your lifestyle?
There’s not a lot of ‘style’ any more!! Haha…however life is crazy, busy, murky, creative and full of possibilities and opportunities.
I’ve got a special friendship group, supportive family and team of supporters around us.
My life takes planning. I’ve realised I can achieve my goals and ‘bucket-list’ items, however there does need to be planning involved!
What’s your biggest challenge right now?
Being ok if Ruby doesn’t come on all our adventures.
What do you do for you time?
Paint, write, head to the mountains, partake in continuous self-development.
How do you cope with the really difficult days?
Come back to myself, confide in those I trust greatly, cry and take a walk in nature.
What brings a smile to your face?
Silly TikTok posts shared by my work team to lighten up the day and being with my family.
What do you need?
A beautiful house in the countryside, with trees, grass, breathtaking views, space for our busy household and lots of room for our fur babies!
Other than this, just a more simplified life!
What are your hopes for the future?
To create more memories, go on more adventures, continue being of service to others and being the best version of me for my family.
